Fantastically flexible, but not for Buddypress users

This theme was a dream come true. If you know css, this theme puts it all at your fingertips. Absolutely great, with options galore.
HOWEVER…
If you want to use Buddypress, this theme creates a ridiculous number of issues. If you are fluent in php, java, html and css, go for it. If not… Don’t bother. And support only seems willing to help if you pay them.

Difficult to make changes to

Even though this theme has more options than any other theme, when it comes to making even the smallest changes to its code, the theme is extremely inflexible. It’s coded in a way that it’s difficult even for experienced users to figure out how to implement modifications that one can find for free on wordpress.org.
Besides, its newest version doesn’t allow php inserts any more from the options panel. Why it’s important? Because in the last 3 years a lot of solutions regarding theme modification and tweaking that one can find in the theme’s forums has been done using those php inserts. However, they are now useless as php inserts are no longer available. Now if you need to know how to make exact same change without the php inserts, the volunteers at the ‘free” forum won’t tell you because this requires digging into the templates’ codes and they feel that you should pay them for their time.
It’s very frustrating because there are very usable solutions that one can find at the forums on wordpress.org and Atahaulpa’s own forum, but you can’t try them yourself because Atahualpa is coded in a very different way than the default theme, and most people would be at a loss as to how to do it on their own. And, Atahualpa’s support is less than friendly. I give it 1 star rating specifically because of that and the attitude!
