Great for a free theme! Used it for a quick portfolio style front page.
You should also install Portfolio Post Type and Options Framework plugins to get all out of this.
Good video tutorial for beginners.

It took me a litle over a day to set up my portfolio site the way that I wanted. I only have to figure out a few more things to have it pretty much exactly the way I want it. Documentation for this theme is pretty good which made it a lot easier, I hadn’t really done much at all with WordPress before this and have very little experience with basic html.
I do wish I had known about child themes before I made my way almost all the way through changing the full theme. oops..

I’ve used your pretty, clean and versatile theme as a foundation for my site (put a child theme on top) and only added two little things in templates:
– I missed the navigation between posts on single.php (and single-portfolio.php),
– I added conditional tags around the html tag in header for easy targeting of the different IE versions.
(like here: http://paulirish.com/2008/conditional-stylesheets-vs-css-hacks-answer-neither/)
