Twenty Sixteen

Really like how minimal and customizable this theme is. No need to make things complicated out of the box. I think it will serve a good foundation for many child themes.

Nice work this year. Pretty clean and very quick.

I give it 4 stars because they have to fix a bug that the menu goes out of the screen on the right side when opening submenus of at least 2 levels. They should stay inside the screen.

simpler but faster than twentyfifteen

You can clearly see this theme is a mobile-first theme.

The design is more than excellent on mobile devices. It feels like an app. I absolutely can’t complain.

However, on the big screens, it’s absolutely elegant, don’t get me wrong, but it feels slanted. Am I using that right? The borders, the colors (try the Gray one!) are perfect and give me great inspiration for other designs.
However, it’s far from perfect: This is only because the content is off-center, with great disregard to any points of reference. It feels random. This is of course objective, but I think I speak for more people.

In short: 5 stars for the tablet/mobile design. 2 stars on the big screen design. Averages to 3.5 stars, rounding it down because I love attention.

With a lovely touch on SEO quality. Don’t forget that, +.5 stars. Getting back to 4 stars

This has a great design & works well with mobile devices. I like it much more than the Twenty Fifteen theme as this one has a refined look to it with simplicity as the key. Bold lines that flow, proportionate widgets, and a menu that is right justified and looks great. I have noticed many updates to this theme which have caused it to break or not work properly with customizer’ but its a work in progress and does have great potential. I have faith it will be a great theme in 2016.

I updated to theme version 0.1.20151007 as per my Dashboard update. When I did, it boinked my site and made it impossible to preview posts claiming I needed version 4.4 of WordPress in order to view my site. I went to WordPress.org to download version 4.4 but it is not available yet. Not good!

I had to roll back to the previous version of Twenty Sixteen. I don’t know if I will update it if this is what I can expect to happen.

I absolutely LOVE the theme’s simplicity and ease of creating a child theme (which I’ve done). PLEASE – don’t update the theme to require a version of WordPress that doesn’t exist yet.

This theme is very well built. The simplicity factor of the theme makes it very easy to customize and adjust with child themes. I would highly recommend this theme for anybody looking for a basic blog theme or someone looking for a simple, easy to customize theme that they can use however they like.

I would give this theme a four star in terms of design but the simplicity and customizable factor makes it well worth a five star.
