Very easy to install & understand & use.

Too good to be free.

This theme is impressive…I’ve never seen a free theme that has the control panel that this one does; it’s superior to some that cost $50 or more. I used this theme on http://www.welovetoexplore.com after trying 31 other themes and all 31 of them had one or more things that I couldn’t accept, this one had the least number of issues…EXCEPT that the mobile version is ugly, and has a stupid menu, and there is a flaw that causes any header widget to overlap the logo and cover it. If they fixed the mobile version and removed the horrible menu, this would be a 5 star theme.

I’ve tried my best to design my small business website without the help of a professional designer and I did manage a decent website, but something was off with every theme I tried and I could only fix so much with little CSS knowledge.

Tempera lets me change pretty much everything I’d like to change, just via the options page. It’s simple and idiot-proof. I can adapt it as much as I want. Everything is explained via short mouseover texts. You can even change the distance between the main menu and the content, change every single colour – things that (so I figure) you usually can only do with the paid version of some free themes.

Some things you can do:
You can choose fonts and font size for everything from normal text to widget titles, colours for every text and title and all the different background colours, exactly which data will be shown above your posts; you can have it show two rows of posts instead of just one, etc.

Btw, at least the German translation is very good (I don’t know about the others).

I wanted my website to look professional – not too cheap, but not over-designed either (don’t want to scare my local customers away, in my field you don’t have fancy websites). So I just left the slider disabled, and the presentation page plus overall layout & design still make it look professional.

Could’ve saved myself a LOT of stress if I had just chosen this theme from the start (and I’m talking about WEEKS of trying to get it right).

Very flexible and a lot of options helping to achieve a deep customization. These guys are great also in supporting.

The other big plus for me is that Tempera works really well on iphone and ipad. My first WP website is based on Twenty-Fourteen, which is supposed to be a responsive theme, but in reality it came up quite short on iOS. SO I am very happy with Tempera.

Love this theme. So many otions in the theme options.

Many option, but I am severe because there a concern the obligation to keep the page if you want to have the slider, the author has not coded the slider to a file share, at the time, it is impossible to “call it” on another file.
Another concern, index.php called frontpage or content / content.php from the header.php part, even if you want to add a slider thanks a plugin by adding code in content / content.php that appears too high and to the right of the logo and just above the part ‘articles’
It is rare to find a theme that gives 3 columns, I intended to use it for a site but facing these concerns, I cannot, yet put the question to the author at 2 different locations, 0 replies, very disappointed

It includes options to choose colors for almost all and the possibility of use a great presentation page (with slider) as front page.

One of the best free themes I worked with. Easy menu, plenty (maybe the most Ive seen) customization options. And the Presentation page takes HTML therefore can be made into anything, almost :).
