This theme is fantastic and beautiful.

I used the old Graphene theme on over 40 websites that i made, but had to abandon it because it was quite old fashioned looking and most importantly not responsive, so i had to move on to other themes, then one day i was wondering if the makers of that theme made anything newer and better and for the most part they did, unfortunately the old Graphene problems are still present, like the fact that the slider is useless unless your site is just a blog, because you can’t use individual images and links, just like in Graphene, but at least there i could replace it, but here it’s just not gonna work (not gonna be screen wide just site wide or even worse, just content/post wide)

The fact that old free Graphene features are now premium plugins also doesn’t sit right with me, even if i don’t need them, but i understand why.

Also why aren’t the additional recommended plugin links, install links instead of download links ? i don’t need all the additional steps to slow me down and to take up space.

Graphene also had very impressive color options, much better than even paid themes, apparently something like that is coming soon, maybe I’ll give Franz Josef another try when that happens, hopefully the slider will also be usable by then.

If you are looking for a theme that looks beautiful, is easy to use and has great support, you’ve come to the right place.

This theme, as all themes from this developer, works like a charm out of the box and it easy to use.

There are a few extra options, packaged in addons, which are are not free, but in contrast to a lot of others out there, the price is very reasonable. Not only the price itself but also considering you only buy them once, with even a discount for the bundle.

There are no yearly fees for support, no restrictions on a per website bases, it is all inclusive.

You won’t go wrong with this theme.

I’ve been testing out the Franz Josef theme briefly during its development, and it’s come a long way. I will definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a theme that simply “works”, is build using robust and efficient code, is free, and has an awesome developer supporting it.

Also check out the old theme “Graphene” from the same developer, which I have used on my blog [Link redacted] for many years now.

More customization options would be nice though.
