I switched to Kale because I liked the magazine appearance of front page, and I wanted a page that showed a combination of recent blogs with featured ones – all of which I could customize. But what prompted me to write this review was the fantastic customer service I’ve already received since switching, even though I’m using the free theme and not the Pro (I’d assumed that customer service would be lacking with a free theme.) I couldn’t figure out how to change the size of post fonts (only bummer is that it IS pretty small, so can be tough to read large sections of text.) After emailing their support team, I received a quick response from Rico, and was able to very easily change my font after that, no further issues. I’m new to CSS and coding, so I really appreciate being able to turn to the theme’s team when I couldn’t figure something out. I would definitely recommend this theme to others looking for clean design, customizable features, and excellent customer service.

Hi, been doing some research and the kale/kale
Pro are the best theme I have seen so far. Just want to ask, would it be easy to upgrade to the pro version when the need arises. Thank you!

I started a food blog, https://www.thaisaiburi.com/ using the Kale theme (free) and ran into some troubles with the layout and style. Contacted support and Jarek was very prompt and effective in addressing my problems. Extremely satisfied and will be using more of their themes. 6 out of 5 stars.

I have been looking all over the internet for a WordPress theme that was right for me and required little adjustment. One of my mandatory requirements when picking the theme was that it must have the ability to preview SQUARE thumbnails. During the live preview it worked but when I activated the theme, all my thumbnails were rectangular. I was so happy to find Kale but super disappointed to find that I couldn’t preview square thumbnails. I thought it would be futile but I wrote in anyway only to find that Abby B was super helpful and provided plug in suggestions as well as shared codes in order for me to make the changes necessary. Dare I say, my website now looks like I had it made and customized just for me- doesn’t even look like a free template! And the swift and helpful customer service that I received is so good that I’m surprised it was free! Just overall a 10/10 on how professional the template, service and Kale theme is and how personalized you can make it. Super happy! Thank you Abby B!

I’ve used this theme to help my fiance setup her blog and it’s awesome with just one issue that I’ve found. For some reason the recent post slider does not have an option to make the entire slide a link. Because my fiance uses featured images with text built into them, we have to disable the text overlay from the slide that contains the link. I then have to go into the frontpage-banner.php and fix the code so the slide itself is the link. Not hard to do but it’s a small pain fixing this every time there’s an update to the theme.

I was having issues with the setup of my site and asked the team for help. They responded very quickly in finding the root of the problem, which was a plugin that changed the layout. Rather than just telling me to delete the plugin, they gave me a CSS code so that I could keep the plugin and have the layout I wanted for my theme. Thanks for the help!

Nice theme with a clean design that’s easily customisable. Don’t be shy to use it for websites not relate to recipes. I use it for a hiking site and it works wonderfully well.
