Have used Evolve for my personal website for about 8 months now, and have been happy with it. Nice features (sliders/photos etc), pretty easy for a moderate WP user to utilize. Definitely have suggested it for others, and would encourage people to give it a try. Seems stable (at least thus far), and has many functions available.

BUYER BEWARE:
I’m an IT professional that is 54 years old and has been an IT consultant my whole life. I’ve never experienced a worse company in my life in terms of handling a customer request for a refund. It was an AMAZING example if a Rube Goldberg machine of circular logic that went nowhere, except to our TOS says no — Lord have mercy upon me and stop the torture.
I was using the free theme and installed an update (BEWARE) when critical elements stopped working. I panicked because the day was about to start on a live site so I download the PAID version thinking that would fix things. Wrong. Both had the same bug which I discovered in their support forum after downloading it, posted by many people, including myself. I quickly hacked the site by disabling features and hand coding things that were done by the theme. Yuck. I NEVER INSTALLED THE PAID THEME. When I asked for a refund…let’s just say I’m still emailing after about 10+ messages to/from their support person. Comments on their forum mysteriously filter anything I post as spam (?). And I noticed that 100% of their testimonials are 100% positive. The company is just awful and I would not trust them. Customer service is an abomination and theme updates will CRASH YOUR SITE. Thus far, it has been THREE DAYS and the bug fixes are not out yet they think that’s just fine for a live site to wait. They “released” a supposed bug fix two days later but forum posts say the bug is still there, and still no refund. DON’T BUY WHAT THEY SAY…SAVE YOURSELF SOME TIME AND ANGUISH AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY.

Awsome theme, highly customizable, easy to use and for free !

This theme has a lot going for it, and one of the biggest pluses is the level of theme support. It is well-planned and executed, and the results look great. Thank you!

I really like that this theme is simple to use, clearly documented, and extremely customizeable. I was able to get my blog into a more modern layout that is clean and nice, along with all the pages that go with my site.

I had a minor problem and posted to the forums, someone not only told me what to do, but gave me the needed code, something I know how to use but cannot write at all.

I am very pleased with this theme and thank the people who made it available for free! Since I am on a tight budget, I am truly grateful.

This theme is great. It’s beautifully laid out, lots of motion, and gives you an idea of how great you can make your otherwise boring website.

But, after putting in hours and hours on it during the last two days, losing sleep because I was so excited about what I could do with his, I did a small tweak today and everything of interest, everything that makes this product stand out among the rest disappear: content boxs, sliders, my footer, all the code I added to customize it.

If anyone has an alternative, let me know.
If Evolve can fix this, I will make your theme proud.

Since the I first adapted this theme, there have been two them upgrades which have resulted in significant changes to display (bootstrap slider, main menu appearance) — and require substantial developer time to recode and style. The first time I spent hours to restyle slider appearance; but with the most recent upgrade I have given up. I simply do not have time to figure out how to preserve site appearance.

It’s a beautiful and powerful theme, but I would advise than anyone who wants to be able to regularly update a theme to stay away–or to at least use a staging site to test and preview any theme upgrades.

I kind have developed a love/hate relationship with this theme.. if I could give it 4.5 stars I would. The theme is exceptionally powerful and customizable … but its also been a source of frequent frustration to me in the course of development of a site. Several times I have had a problem with display of some element of my site and wrestled for hours looking for a fix, only to find that the solution buried somewhere on the many pages of theme options – an easy switch to solve whatever problem I am having.

So for anyone who plans to do significant customization – rather than a straight, out-of-the-box install — I recommend that you start by carefully reading through and studying all of Theme Option sections. Chances are, whatever you want to do — the theme developers have already thought of- but the option might not be listed where you would expect to find it. Not the fault of the developers — it’s just have provided so many more options than most themes that it didn’t occur to me to even look for some of these options.

I am tremendously impressed with the options presented in a free theme. No limits whatsoever on font choice, color, sizing, etc.

This is a great theme but it tires too easily. This theme allows me to add a post or page but most times while editing the post or page, all of the text to the post or page disappears leaving only the images on the post or page. I usually stop the session because I’m afraid to do a save and lose my text/article. I have to wait until the following day to complete my post because logging in after a few hours on the same day only recreates the no text post or still no text to wark with. What a bomb for such a great theme.

This is my first time using this theme and I love it. Lots of nice options, easy to make a website look fantastic with this theme.
