As a beginner, I needed a site that was very customizable. I experimented with others and when I searched for “best customizable wordpress themes”, I found this one and gave it a try. The first thing you need to do is just pay the $30.00 and get the Premium package of addons (plugins). When you do, you’ll see that you can change anything you need to make great sites. I’ve done 5 sites with it so far.

The support is terrific. Each time I’ve had a question, the Lead Developer gets back to me right away with the answer.

The support is very attentive and the theme’s interface and design are great! Besides its good performance on Google Speedpage.

This is a great theme that provides a lot of flexibility. It allows me to make several different sites all using the same theme, but still allowing them to look very different. I ran into a snag and the developer, Tom, was incredibly responsive and helped track down a pretty unusual bug on my end. The premium version is well worth all the extra features.

I just love it. Not any headaches, pure enjoyment to work with it, even for a complete newbie. Since the theme is fully customized, I highly recommend it to everyone, the most knowledgeable developer too. It loads fast and it’s search engine friendly, you really can’t ask for more. I would never bother with any different themes, my every site will be definitely build on GeneratePress.

As to the theme support, I can’t even imagine anything better… thank you very much Tom!

I feel like such a newb. And I’m not completely illiterate when it comes to building sites and working with a theme. But Boy HOWDY! The GeneratePress theme is simply stunning in its simplicity, and the ease with which you can work the back end is downright BRILLIANT.

Further, I recommend the add-ons (because having toys to play with when designing is FUN)as it will benefit you and the developer (so he can create more toys for us to play with, hopefully).

AND – Customer Service? Hands DOWN one of the best I’ve dealt with in all my time doing this thing I love (blogging, writing, website owning, etc.). Once I’d gotten to a certain point after downloading and then uploading to WP – I had questions.

I had read the reviews stating how AWEsome Tom was with response time and answers.

They were ALL right. He handled my initial questions with ease, then several more, and went above and beyond to get me where I needed to be.

Bottom line?

Great theme, great CS. TOTAL Package Period

This is the future of WordPress themes. Free theme that is built rock solid and light weight core of HTML5 CSS3. Theme is fast as lightening. Then add premium plugins to add the options and capabilities as needed. Plugins that follow the theme in the future and that don’t try to work with every theme. Yes, that is the idea.

Good for WordPress and for the developer as they have a stream of income. Love the freemium model. Wake up WordPress – stop putting out all those 20 based default themes and look at what Tom Osbourne is doing with the GeneratePress.

A very talented coder who has the right idea for the future of WordPress.

This is such a great website template. It has a lot of options that really work for me–and they’re easy to find and follow, which is great considering I’m a total novice to all of this! Even better, the customer service has been great. I e-mailed with some questions and even though I am using a free version they have been so prompt and friendly with their replies and talking me through exactly what I need.

I’ve been working on modifying another theme to get it ready for my first website. After spending months fighting to get that theme to function as I felt it should I decided to begin looking for other solutions. By chance I stumbled upon GeneratePress and I just can’t believe it took so long to find. I can’t imagine why the blogs aren’t ablaze with glowing mentions of this theme. Never have I found a free theme that offers so much customization, and as an added bonus the add-ons are reasonably (and strategically) priced at $5 a piece. I’m gushing over this theme and I can’t even help myself. Seriously you have nothing to lose by giving GeneratePress a shot. Also, if you decide to purchase any add-ons make sure to consider the packages offered; $30 for every add-on that has been or will be made for the theme is possibly the year’s best offer. Like I said, this theme has me gushing and I can’t help it. This will likely end up being the only theme I use in the foreseeable future.

GeneratePress for me is the most complete and best free themes. Its plugins are great too and help to create a high quality site / blog.

Like many others, I have been testing and trying many WP themes.
I don’t do PHP (can do some light modifications if explained), but I do want to customize and change the visual look exactly to my liking. It’s been getting little tiresome trying to find themes that have features that I need for each project plus would easily be changed to look like I want.
Well, I came across Generatepress just by accident and decided to give it a go. I was not too pleased to see it came with a paid addons so I went with the free one.
It didn’t take me long to get the Premium. I really liked the free version but most importantly, the premium was priced very reasonably (unlike some others I’ve seen) so it wasn’t that big of a leap.

Let me tell you, this theme absolutely rocks! With couple of additional FREE addons and creativity I can create virtually any look that I want without having to touch PHP or anything.
Most importantly, what amazes me is the terrific support Tom (the author) offers at generatepress.com. He is replies promptly and even the most trivial questions.

The free version of the theme is great but the premium is definitely worth every penny (this coming from a cheap and stingy woman).

I like to use the same theme for all my sites so that, once I know how it works, it’s easier for me to customize, and I LOVE to customize. I’m DRIVEN to customize. GeneratePress is solid and easily customized and the developer gives the best support I’ve ever seen. He really cares that the theme be useful and well-designed to work with other plugins and with WordPress. This is a theme that’s programmed the way it should be. I highly recommend that you use it and support it.

There are a few things that will work differently than expected, mostly because other developers are not following WordPress protocol as closely as this one. Check the support forum and you’ll soon figure it all out and enjoy it.
